1. Polysiloxane/silicone 

We use polysiloxane or silicone elastomer and resins to solve the problems the industries are facing, especially for some cases where the other polymers cannot meet the requirements.

The research includes kinetics study, reinforcement (toughening and strengthening) and modification of polymers using siloxane segments.

We also use polysiloxanes/silicones as raw materials to product functional ceramics like membranes, protective coatings, self-healing matrix, etc..

2. Boron-containing polymers

We introduce boron elements into some polymers to enhance its thermal stability and render them some special functionalities.

This research is mainly about the synthesis of polyborosiloxane and polyborosilizane. Rational design and feasible synthesis approach is the key to this research.

3. NIR/SWIR reflective materials

NIR/SWIR reflective materials are useful and promising in cool painting, which can decrease the indoor temperature and reduce energy consumption in summer days. It is also useful in NIR/SIWR camouflage. We have been trying to get an in-depth understanding of the relationship between intrinsic factors and NIR/SWIR reflection, for advanced optical materials design.
