I joined the Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences as Chunlei Associate Professor in December 2018. I started to build "Functional Materials For Harsh Environment Group" in March 2019 with the help of professors from FINE lab@NIMTE.

I received my Ph.D. degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Nanyang Technological University in 2017 and joined Temasek Laboratories@Nanyang Technological University as a research scientist before I moved to Ningbo.

The research of my group falls into two parts: boron/silicon-containing polymers and composites for harsh environment and Near-infrared/short-wave infrared-reflective materials. The research in my group is trying to establish the relationship between polymer/composites structures and their mechanical properties/heat resistance/optical properties. My group focuses on both fundamental studies of the above-mentioned research field and industrialization of materials with potential domestic applications.

We are currently hiring highly motivated students (joint program) and research fellows for the following projects:

1. Novel boron-containing polymer precursors for SiBCN ceramics.

2. Poly(siloxane-carborane)s for high-temperature applications

3. Coating development for harsh environment (radioactive)

4. Novel organic molecules design for nitrogen fixation
